Where Greg Reid could fit in at VSU

Reid
With the dismissal of cornerback Greg Reid from the Florida State football team, the speculation of where the 5-foot-7 corner will play his senior season has begun.

Expect Valdosta State to be the leading candidate for Reid, who is a native of Valdosta and played his high school football at nearby Lowndes.
Reid would make an impact with Valdosta State at the Division II level.
For one, Reid would likely start the opposite corner of preseason All-American corner Matt Pierce, a position held last season by Alex Webster, who will miss the first two games of the season for the Blazers due to a suspension.
Reid's biggest asset he would bring to VSU would be his punt and kickoff return skills. Reid was the starting punt returner for Florida State all three seasons he was there; he exploded onto the scene in 2009 when he returned a punt for a touchdown against the Miami Hurricanes on national television in his first-ever collegiate game.
Reid then led the nation (FBS) in punt return average for that season, averaging 18.4 yards per return.
Last season, wide receiver Quin Roberson managed the punt returning duties for the Blazers and while he managed a touchdown, he also struggled to haul in the punts and struggled with muffed punts.
