Blazer soccer picked to finish third in GSC

The Valdosta State soccer team was picked to finish third in the Gulf South Conference this season, according to an announcement by the conference.

The Blazers received 34 total points after garnering one second place vote, four third place votes and two fourth place votes. Reigning conference champion North Alabama received 47 points after four first place votes. West Florida was picked to finish second after receiving 44 votes.
The second-year Blazers saw Arielle Sabina and 2011 conference Freshman of the Year Abbi Edwards be named to the All-GSC team. Three new Blazers (Kim Caitlin Alderman, Arista Hott and Shelby Jennings) were named to the Top Newcomers List.
Valdosta State opens fall practice Wednesday.
