Reid to have ACL surgery Tuesday

VALDOSTA — Injured Valdosta State football player Greg Reid will undergo ACL reconstructive surgery Tuesday, according to a post on his Twitter account.
Reid tore his ACL a week before the regular season while returning a punt in a team scrimmage. The injured occurred less than two weeks after the former Lowndes High standout was kicked off the Florida State team and then joined the Blazers.

Reid is eligible to play for the Blazers next season. If he is granted a release from VSU, Reid would not have to sit out a year if he transferred back to a Division I program. It is unclear what Reid's plans for the future are at this time.
